We're spilling our secrets on finding vendor partners that allow us to create with higher budgets. How to source high quality, unique blooms to set your work apart from other florists, and the tools that allow you to create large scale installations no matter the venue or weather.

You will leave with a community of flower friends that you can reach out to for advice, freelancing help, or insight on a vendor partner. It is our hope that this workshop will allow you to jump ahead in your career as a wedding and event floral designer!

We will teach you all we know about floral mechanics, both sustainable and foam based, how to design with eye-catching, innovative color, and last in challenging weather conditions

Throughout the workshop, we will have professional photo & video pro's helping to capture ready to go content for your marketing needs. Plus a styled shoot with some of the best vendors so you will go home with multiple galleries of your work that will speed track your ability to sell these new skills to clients.

day one:

9-11am: Pricing & Recipeing with Confidence

Learn our tried and tested techniques to price and recipe large scale installations. We will cover how we pitch installations ensuring your clients get exactly what they are looking for and you make a profit every time. We'll share our sources for high quality, unique, and locally focused flowers and greenery. When, where and how we forage!

12-1: LUnch provided with your ticket

Learn how to calculate the labor hours needed to produce large scale floral designs. Get a grasp on the ideal speed your freelancers should be completing different tasks so you can staff your studio hours with confidence and not waste money on labor. See how we bring it all together on event day with staff of different skill levels.

11-12pm: Staffing in the Studio and on Event Day

1-4pm: Mechanics Mastery

Learn the mechanics and technique we use to build sturdy structures, integrate water sources, with foam and foam free skills. How to support these installations and where to source reliable mechanics, with tips on  how to navigate tricky location set ups. 

6pm Dinner provided with your ticket

Meet with your workshop leads to talk about your specific business challenges. Whether you want us to audit your proposal process, go through the pros and cons of different floral softwares, or help curate your portfolio, we are here to share anything we have learned.

7-9pm: One on Ones

day one:

Stop hiding behind the flowers, luxury clients want to see who they are trusting with their floral visions. Bring your favorite wedding day or studio outfit, however you want to present your brand, and take professional headshots.

4-6pm: Professional Headshots

Day two:

8-12pm: Hands On Installations

You'll rotate between 3 different installations (ceremony, staircase, pool) while collaborating with your lead designer to create impactful installations. Talk through flower choices, color stories, and design tips. Learn how our signature look of floral grouping and color blocking creates visually striking, quick assembly, and weather resilient designs.

12- 12:30 Lunch provided with your ticket

Watch how we create stunning, flower forward bouquets using the spiral technique, chicken wire technique, and bouquet egg technique. We will also talk about flower choice for bouquet work going through some of our favorite blooms and greenery for luxury designs.

12:30-1:30: Bouquet Demonstration

1:30 – 2:30pm: Reception Styling

You will jump right into reception table styling placing centerpieces, bud vases, and candles to create a lush and abundant tablescape. We will talk about repurposing strategies to give your clients the maximum value.

While our photography attendees, models, and planner friends capture the gorgeous images and BTS that will fill your portfolios and social media, we will take refuge in the air conditioned dining room to debrief the day. You will receive the exact recipes we used on every installation, bouquet, and centerpiece. We will go over how to adjust your production timeline depending on venue restrictions, timelines, and transportation challenges.

3:30-5pm: Debrief & Sendoff

day two:

You will not believe how much we are creating over these 2 days and we are sending you home with tons of images to pack your portfolios. Pose amongst all the floral beauty we have created, taking those photos we always forget to take at the end of a long wedding day.

2:30-3:30pm: Professional Headshots

You'll receive the event gallery within a month, where we provide all of the vendor credits and guidance on how to include these images in your marketing and portfolio.

Absolutely. We have even organized a formal styled shoot so that the imagery provided to you from this workshop is of the highest quality. This is one of the biggest benefits of attending this workshop. Not only will you gain all the knowledge to create these installations, you will also have all of the social proof to gain the trust of your clients that you can truly pull off gorgeous floristry. 

Can I use photos from the workshop on my social media and in my portfolio?

Yes! All attendees will be staying at Castlebrook Estate the night of July 26 and we will have lunch and dinner together on the 26th as well as breakfast and lunch on the 27th. From our own experience attending workshops, we are so excited to offer time together in the evening to decompress with the other attendees, share what you learned in the sessions, troubleshoot what is going on in your individual businesses, and form friendships with others in the industry.

Are lodging and meals included?

All of your installations will use both foam and foam-free techniques so you leave with strategies that will adapt to any set up. In our own practices we aim to use foam-free mechanics whenever possible, but there are some situations where fluency with foam is required. 

What mechanics will you be teaching? 

We have scouted Castlebrook Estate and chosen some of the most beautiful features to adorn with flowers. You will be creating a triptych arch (3 massive arches) along the front entry to the house, a cascading stair installation, and a pool installation growing up the columns from the water. You will also watch a bridal bouquet demonstration and style an over the top tablescape under the pergola.
